Sunday stroll

Image
As I was feeling under the weather today, Nehal took the girls to Tilden for a gentle hike. He didn't manage any photos on the hike but here are some of the picnic which followed including cake for Nish's birthday!

Fall festival

Image
This afternoon we went to Shreya's school for their fall festival - games and fun in the school playground and a chance for the parents to get together. Here are some pics of Shreya with her pal, Mateen, as we headed to the festival.

Shake it up

Image
Shreya has been enjoying helping the kitchen more and more and in particular making milkshakes with her dad. Sani continues to enjoy eating and watching.

Ganpathi

Image
This afternoon I took the girls to a visit a friend's house for ganpathi. The girls and I dressed up in our Indian clothes but sadly I only managed to get a photo of Shreya. Still working on smiling in front of the camera.

Daddy the popcorn maker

Shreya is a big fan of kettle corn and Nehal has somehow convinced her that he makes all of it. We've stocked up on it in the garage and when Shreya saw the bags she said 'Wow daddy sure must be tired after making all that popcorn'.

Jump, jump, jump

Image
The latest addition to our toy collection is a trampoline and the girls love jumping on it, especially Sani. We are using it to practice taking turns - a new concept for Sani. Clearly smiling for a photo was too much to ask for Sani looking pleased with herself after booting Shreya off

Hello baby Jack

Image
This morning we visited our friends, Moira and Brian who are now a family of 5 thanks to the arrival of baby Jack. Sadly we didn't manage any photos of Jack as he was sleeping peacfully throughout the visit but here is one of the older kids together. Sani, Shreya, Evelyn and Andrew

Princess Shreya and supergirl Sani

Image
This evening, Shreya was keen to dress up as a princess. Not to leave Sani out, we tried out the supergirl costume on her (this was what I was hoping Shreya would wear last halloween but sadly the princess won out). The costume was a little big for Sani but she embraced it and there is some hope that supergirl Sani might make another appearance for Halloween (fingers crossed). the smile says it all In action i.e. running around the house!

Lands end trail

Image
This morning we went on the Lands End trail with Kevin, Nish and gorgeous baby Naya. One of the most beautiful trails in the Bay Area with spectacular views of the bay and the Golden Gate Bridge.  Sani's first time in the carrier. First she didn't want to get in and then she didn't want to get out!

Homework

Image
Shreya missed a few days of school this week but was excited to catch up with what she had missed. First taste of homework. Hope the excitement continues through school life!

Visit from Hreet

Image
Our nanny's grand-daughter stopped by for a visit and Shreya was so thrilled to see her. Sani ignored her for the most part!

Too loud

Image
When the noise level gets too much for Sani, she sticks her fingers in her ears. It is pretty hilarious given she is generally the loudest person in the house.

Happy birthday Owen!

Image
This morning we headed to Coyote Point to celebrate Owen's 2nd birthday. A fun morning in the park, flying kites ending with some delicious home made birthday cake (our girls continue to be the only kids we know who don't eat cake!).

Singing in the rain

Image
Another current favourite - running around the house with umbrellas.

Milk on the steps

Image
Recently our evening routine includes sitting at the bottom of the steps while having some milk and discussing the highs (and lows) of our day. Shreya making her 'silly' face

Dress up

Image
Seems like the dressing up bug has hit Sani as well. Here are a few shots of the girls as 'princesses'.
