Oakland zoo

Image
This morning we visited Oakland Zoo which we had heard from many was a great place to visit with the kids. We weren't disappointed with the visit - sky ride which provided a great bird's eye view of the animals, train ride and lots of other amusement park rides really suited towards the younger crowd as well as the usual zoo animals! Loving the sunny weather! Shreya prepping Sani for the ride

Bonjour Paris

Image
Another highlight of our trip was the short break in Paris. We jumped on the Eurostar and a few hours later were in arguably the most beautiful city in the world. We were lucky enough to be staying right across from the Tuileries gardens and so managed to pack a lot of walking into the two days visiting the Louvre (just from the outside), Tuileries gardens, obviously the Eiffel Tower, boat rides along the Seine, the Champs Elysee as well as numerous carousel rides! People were incredibly friendly and waiters and hotel staff went out of their way to accommodate the girls (definitely not how I remember Parisians). I was also struck by how many things they have for kids in the parks - trampolines for example across from the Louvre albeit at an extortionate price! Some things were exactly as I remember like the delicious pain au chocolat and Herme macaroons! All in all it was such a treat to see the girls experience a taste of continental Europe and mark the start of our European advent...

Treetop adventure

Image
Nehal had been eying the treetop adventure trail for a while and finally decided to try it out - basically you go from one tree to the other through a series of ziplines/walking across planks/spiderwebs etc. We had a great time watching him, especially Shreya who has stated she will try it next year. Don't hold your breath!

Escape from London

Image
As has become an annual tradition, we left London for a few days to enjoy some fun in Longleat. Swimming was the main attraction especially for Sani but we also managed to squeeze in soccer and art classes for Shreya and Sani as well as tennis for Shreya. A great few days! Sani at soccer - she lost interest in the class after a bit! Aji and Grandpa teaching the girls a few ping pong tricks Fairy art class

London town

Image
We finally made it to London. Shreya has been counting down the days since we booked our tickets which was a while back. The weather was a little chilly but nothing could dampen the excitement of the girls. Evening walks with Aji and Grandpa Face painting in Hamleys - best toy shop in the world! Visiting the Queen Big Ben in the background Painting in Trafalgar Square! St Georges day festival which we stumbled upon

As in years past, the kids had a wonderful time hunting for eggs and posing with the Easter bunny. Ready to hunt L-R Rachel, Katelyn, Anika, Sani, Shreya and Evelyn Sneaking in a few more eggs
