Sochi - Cali style

Image
Not quite Sochi but a first ski trip to Tahoe. My memories of skiing have been pretty interesting so far - torture on the slopes in Tignes, France with some less than sympathetic French instructors, generally freezing conditions and a torn off toe nail incident on the last outing. Regardless, I was really keen to give it another try for the sake of the girls in the hope that this becomes a recurring family holiday for the future. Well it turned out to be a perfect few days - a traffic free, non-stop drive (a first for us), gentle introduction to skiing for the girls and me, some solo ski runs for Nehal, unbelievably gorgeous weather, great resort with outdoor swimming, sunset walks at the beach, evening smores at the fire pit and generally some wonderful quality family time in the great outdoors. Shreya wants to return next weekend and surprisingly I do too. Definitely next year though! Ready for ski school Post ski smiles Post nap swim Evening smores by the ...

Local tattoo parlour

One of Sani's favourite things to do is face paint or stick on tattoos- both administered by Shreya. We are still trying to figure out who introduced her to the tattoos and hope the fascination ends with the stick on variety. Here are a few shots of Shreya taking over the tattoo process. Sani cannot contain her excitement Shreya offering some advice on what might look best

Valentine's Day

Still not a believer in this made up holiday but the girls are into all things red and pink and especially if they involve hearts so it is hard to avoid Valentines day in our house. Girls making cards for their classmates and teachers Celebrations in Shreya's class - note the kid in the front who refuses to join in.  At the Marin Country Mart Sani's favourite song at the moment

Celebrating the 2s

Image
Double dose of celebrations today as Naya turned 2 with a party at Habitot and in the afternoon we hosted a baby shower at our place for Kevin and Nishi. It was a truly amazing day and after everyone left, Sani asked if they were all going to come back tomorrow. Unfortunately only a few photos capturing the memories and none of the hilarious games which were organized by Nidhi.
