The birthday celebrations continued with a party with family and of course no party would be complete without some delicious cupcakes. Shreya met her cousin Nathan who is just a year older than her for the first time at X'mas. Things got off to a good start as they checked each other out. Hugs with Aunty Em! As I said things got off to a good start but Shreya wasn't quite as impressed when Nathan started opening her presents !

Shreya was all smiles on her birthday morning - this was her reaction to the whole family greeting her singing happy birthday! And then it was down to the serious business of opening cards and presents

On Boxing day, we made it out to visit the Rockefeller Center and braved the cold long enough to pose in front of the X'mas tree.

Santa definitely came to town for Shreya's first X'mas ! The highlights of the day were Arjun emerging from his room dressed as Santa and Shreya getting in to the X'mas spirit and ripping open her presents !

We headed to New York for the holidays and having survived 3 months with only photos, we finally got to meet our gorgeous nephew, Arjun! It is the first time that Shreya has paid any attention to someone younger than her infact she was very taken with her young brother. Our little cutie! As we will be in New York for Shreya's actual birthday, we had an early celebration at home with a few friends. We started the day by entering her room singing happy birthday and while we are pretty certain she had no idea why her parents were singing and dancing she greeted us with a huge smile ! We brought her out and showed her the decorations we had put up while she was asleep. She seemed to approve! Then we got down to the serious business of reading cards sent by her grandparents in London! Our friends, now known as Uncle Raj and Aunt Liz, came over at a shockingly early hour on a sunday morning to help us prepare for the party. You can see Shreya is keeping a close eye on the beverages being consumed ! Aunt Liz made ALL the delicious cupcakes for Shreya's party and for that we are eternally grateful !

We finally managed to take Shreya swimming again and lets just say that she is aqua baby. Definitely taking after her dad!

One of our favourite weekly activities is going to Shreya's music class. Every friday, led by teacher Bridget, a group of ten or so mums/grandmas/the occasional dad and their babies sing and dance the hour away. Shreya loves listening to the songs, playing (generally chewing on) the instruments but most of all she adores teacher Bridget and her guitar. Listening intently to teacher Bridget with her pal, Cesare H ow many instruments can I play at one time

Shreya can now stand without any support. She hasn't shown signs of taking that first unassisted step so watch this space!
