Quarantine days and nights

Life as we knew it came to a sudden halt in March 2020 with the arrival of Covid-19. Words like social distancing, coronavirus, quarantine, distance learning plans and zoom calls entered our daily vocabulary. All social activities and sports were halted and everyone stayed home adjusting to a new norm. The girls launched into online learning and we worked from home. The roads were empty, shops and restaurants closed, getting basic groceries became an ordeal and supplies of toilet roll, disinfectant wipes and flour were hard to find.

The days flew by and while some days seemed longer than others, we'll never forget these unprecedented times, the best of which included our expanded cooking repertoire, nightly family dinners, catching up with long distance friends and family, backyard evenings, weekend/week day movie nights, dance challenges, walking everywhere, riding bikes on the empty SF roads, not travelling for work and enjoying a slower pace of life.
