Shreya's winter program

Image
In the afternoon it was Shreya's turn to take the stage. She has been through the performances for a few years now but this was the first time on a real stage and for the first time each child also got to say a few lines by themselves. The excitement was high and all the kids did an amazing job not only remembering their lines but also all their positions. Here is a video of the kids singing Feliz Navidad Post performance book exchange And some crafts to end the day With her friend, Solihem

Sani takes the stage

Image
It was finally the moment we had awaiting with much anticipation - Sani's first winter program. We weren't sure what to expect from her - whether she would participate or be overwhelmed by the audience and hide behind the teachers or start crying. She surprised us all (well maybe just me as my mum said she knew all along that she would be great). From the minute she led the class into the group to the last song, she reveled in her moment on stage, even when she didn't seem to know the words to the song! A memorable morning for us all. Sani joined the audience in clapping after every song Sani is the first one on the left Final group shot - Sani is on the far left in the front Post performance class party - like a true performer she also got some flowers from her friend Daryn Class X'mas decorations Santa's helper

Family brunch

The morning after we returned from our trip we were in North Beach for an all too brief catch up with Sonal masi, Nehal's aunt, and her family as they were visiting the area. Rahul, Brenda and their son, Ryan also joined the party. Girls with Meera Group shot  Sani getting a ride from Krish

Disney & Orange County

Image
After a couple of days in Palm Springs we drove to LA with our first stop being Disneyland on Thanksgiving Day. The girls enjoyed the day but were very content to do something else the next day which left me content (still not convinced by the 'magic' of Disney) and Nehal slightly disappointed (the avid Disney fan!). Probably the highlight of the trip - the beaches in Orange County. We'll definitely be returning there. On the Dumbo ride Sani very happy with the biggest lollipop ever Heading into It's a small world - the favourite ride of the day Obligatory photo with Mickey Where there is face painting, you will see these girls First taste of bunk beds which the girls loved At the pretend beach And the pretend supermarket Finally at the real beach

Thanksgiving getaway - Palm Springs

Image
This year we were in Palm Springs and LA/Orange County for the thanksgiving break. It was our first time in Palm Springs and I'd say its a perfect getaway for a few days with young kids. Not a huge amount to see but warm weather, nice resorts and most importantly plenty of opportunities to go swimming. Waiting to board Straight to the pool after check in Post swim snacks on the patio

Skating in Union Square

Image
We finally gave in to Shreya's request and took her ice skating in Union Square. I should say that Nehal took her. Sani like me got on the ice for a split second and decided solid ground was the better option. Let's hope this was more than a one time deal for Shreya atleast! Pre-skating smiles Nehal braving the ice Shreya loved this contraption which allowed her to move around the rink freely. If only they had it for the adults...
